Circular CN-BSS/2013/01: Banking Hours

The Monetary Authority of Mauritius mandates that all commercial banks provide public banking services from 0830 to 1400 hours starting 1 July 2013. This requirement establishes a minimum operating window, though institutions are permitted to extend their hours beyond this timeframe. The directive officially supersedes the previous circular CN-CBSS/2009/11 issued on 26 April 2009.

Dear Sirs,

Re: Banking Hours

Beginning 1st July 2013 all commercial banks are required to provide banking services to the public during MMA’s banking hours, i.e.; 0830 to 1400 hours, at a minimum. Please note that banks are welcome to extend banking services beyond these hours.

This circular supersedes MMA’s circular no. CN-CBSS/2009/11 dated 26th April 2009.
