Information Circular PF 1 of 2013: Withdrawal of Information Circular No. 8 of 2008
The South African Financial Services Board has immediately withdrawn Information Circular No. 8 of 2008, which previously detailed payment methods for surplus benefits arising from Registrar-approved section 15B apportionment schemes. This withdrawal formally removes the outdated procedural guidance for pension fund surplus distributions. Regulated pension funds must discontinue using the withdrawn circular and adhere to current statutory provisions for surplus benefit payments.
