Consultation Paper No. 6 of 2025 – Substantial Public Interest Rules
The Abu Dhabi Global Market Registration Authority proposes amendments to the Data Protection Regulations 2021 to introduce specific substantial public interest grounds for processing Special Categories of Personal Data. These new rules establish conditions for processing such data in the insurance sector and for safeguarding children and individuals at risk, benchmarked against the UK Data Protection Act 2018. The Authority invites public feedback on these proposals until 2 July 2025 before final enactment by the ADGM Board of Directors.
