The Bank of Zambia requires all commercial banks and the Zambian SWIFT community to attend virtual meetings on April 20 and 21, 2022 concerning the ISO 20022 messaging standard. These sessions will evaluate institutional readiness for implementing ISO 20022 across the High Value Payments Plus and Cross-Border Payments systems, directly shaping the national migration roadmap. COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT ON ISO 20022 MESSAGING STANDARD BY SWIFT
Reference is made to the above subject.
The Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT), as part of the ISO 20022 Consultancy Service, will conduct virtual meetings on April 20 and 21, 2022. These meetings will take place from 09:00 – 12:00 hours, Central European Time (CET) on each day. The engagement is aimed at gauging the awareness and readiness of participants on the implications and adoption of the ISO 20022 messaging standard on the domestic High Value Payments Plus (HVPS+) and Cross-Border Payments and Reporting Plus (CBPR+).
In this regard, all commercial banks and the SWIFT community in Zambia are requested to prepare for and attend the community engagement with SWIFT on the advised dates. The outcome of these engagements will provide input into the migration roadmap and implementation strategy for the market. We, therefore, wish to emphasise the importance of attending and actively participating in these meetings.
A link for the meeting will be shared with the ISO 20022 Industry Working Group and can be circulated to other relevant officers in your institutions.
We look forward to your usual cooperation and active participation.
