Status of Previously Issued Guidance Notes
Issued by the South African Reserve Bank’s Registrar of Banks, Guidance Note 1/2013 clarifies which previously published regulatory guidance notes remain in force for the 2013 calendar year. All prior guidance notes are automatically deemed withdrawn or replaced unless explicitly listed as effective in this annual notification, with retained documents preserving their original numbering and dates. The notice enumerates seventeen continuing guidance notes covering Basel III implementation, stress testing, and outsourcing, and requires recipient institutions to return a signed acknowledgment of receipt to the Office of the Registrar of Banks.
