The Qatar Cabinet issued Decision No. (14) of 2021 to amend Article (74) of the Executive Regulations governing the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing Law. Amending Some Provisions of the Executive Regulations of the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing Law Issued by Cabinet Decision No. (41) of 2019
The Cabinet, Having reviewed the Constitution, and the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing Law issued by Law No. (20) of 2019, amended by Royal Decree-Law No. (19) of 2021, and the Emir's Decision No. (29) of 1996 regarding Cabinet decisions submitted to the Emir for ratification and issuance, and the Executive Regulations of the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing Law issued by Cabinet Decision No. (41) of 2019, and upon the proposal of the National Committee for Combating Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing,
Decreed as follows:
Article (1) The text of Article (74) of the Executive Regulations of the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing Law referenced above is replaced with the following: Article (74): "Financial regulatory authorities must, when providing information requested from their foreign counterparts, obtain prior approval therefrom, in order to refer such information to any authority or use it for regulatory or non-regulatory purposes. When a financial regulatory authority is subject to a legal obligation to disclose or report such information, it must notify its foreign counterpart thereof immediately upon obtaining them."

Article (2) All competent authorities shall, each within their respective jurisdictions, implement this Decision. It shall take effect from the date of its issuance and be published in the Official Gazette.
