Decision of the Board of Directors of the Authority No. 37 for 2023 Regarding the Establishment of the Advisory Committee in Insurance

The Financial Regulatory Authority's Board of Directors issued Decision No. 37 for 2023 to formally establish an eleven-member advisory committee of insurance sector specialists and experts. The newly constituted body is mandated to provide expert opinions and strategic guidance on sector development, operational system enhancements, and the strengthening of regional and global competitive capabilities. Operating under existing Board rules and taking effect upon website publication, the decision supersedes all conflicting prior provisions.

Decision of the Board of Directors of the Authority No. (37) for 2023 dated 8/3/2023

Regarding the Establishment of the Advisory Committee in Insurance

The Board of Directors of the Financial Regulatory Authority,
Having reviewed Law No. (10) for 2009 regulating supervision over non-banking financial markets and instruments;
Having reviewed Presidential Decree No. (192) for 2009 issuing the Basic System of the Financial Regulatory Authority;
Having reviewed Board Decision No. (141) for 2017 regarding the establishment of the Authority's advisory committees by specialists and experts, and its amendments;
And having obtained the approval of the Board of Directors in its meetings held on 22/2/2023 and 8/3/2023,

Has Decided

(Article One)

An advisory committee of specialists and experts in the insurance sector activity is established to express opinions and provide advice to the Authority regarding the development of the sector, improvement of work systems, and enhancement of regional and global competitive capabilities. Its composition shall be as follows: (in alphabetical order)

  1. Mr. Ehab Mohamed Abu El-Magd
  2. Mr. Hassan Mohamed Hassan Darwish
  3. Mr. Said Adel Al-Alfy
  4. Mr. Adel Ahmed Musa
  5. Ms. Abla Helmy
  6. Ms. Abeer Helmy Saleh
  7. Mr. Alaa El-Zohairy
  8. Mr. Omar Abdel Hamid Gouda
  9. Dr. Ghada Mahmoud Ali
  10. Mr. Mohamed Mehran Tabaa Ahmed
  11. Mr. Walid Ibrahim Aouf

The rules stipulated in Board Decision No. 141 for 2017 shall apply to the committee's working system.

(Article Two)

This Decision shall be published on the Authority's website, and shall take effect from its issuance date, with all provisions contradicting it being repealed.
