Central Bank of Sri Lanka Operating Instructions on Reserve Requirements

The Central Bank of Sri Lanka issued Operating Instructions No. 35/01/005/0007/15 on 17 March 2020 to amend reserve requirements for licensed commercial banks. The directive mandates that banks maintain reserves against Sri Lankan Rupee-denominated deposit liabilities at a rate of four percent, effective from the maintenance period commencing 16 March 2020. This update replaces Schedule A of previous instructions and supersedes prior reserve ratios while keeping other existing operating instructions in force.
