Belize Treasury Bills Act

The Government of Belize enacted the Treasury Bills Act to authorize the Minister to borrow funds through the issuance of Treasury Bills and Treasury Notes. The legislation mandates that all principal sums, interest, and issuance expenses are charged to the Consolidated Revenue Fund and establishes aggregate borrowing limits of two hundred million dollars for Bills and two hundred twenty-five million dollars for Notes. It further defines the maturity periods, denominations, and rule-making powers regarding the preparation and cancellation of these financial instruments.
