Regulations amending Finansinspektionen’s regulations regarding insurance business disclosure (FFFS 2023:23)

Finansinspektionen amended its regulations and general guidelines (FFFS 2015:8) to align with Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2023/895. The amendment requires insurance undertakings to submit information for direct insurance per claim year when disclosing technical provisions in their solvency and financial condition reports. These regulations entered into force on 1 January 2024.

Only the printed version of the regulation in Swedish applies for the application of the law. 1 Regulations amending Finansinspektionen’s regulations and general guidelines (FFFS 2015:8) regarding insurance business; decided 12 December 2023. Finansinspektionen prescribes pursuant to Chapter 7, section 2, of the Insurance Business Ordinance (2011:257) that Chapter 11, section 4 of Finansinspektionen’s regulations and general guidelines (FFFS 2015:8) regarding insurance business shall have the following wording. Chapter 11 Section 4 An insurance undertaking shall submit information for direct insurance per claim year when it discloses technical provisions in accordance with the Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2023/895 of 4 April 2023 laying down implementing technical standards for the application of Directive 2009/138/EC of the European Parliament and the Council with regard to the procedures, formats and templates for the disclosure by insurance and reinsurance undertakings of their report on their solvency and financial condition and repealing Implementing Regulation (EU) 2015/2452.
