Circular Letter No. CC/2021/00000052

Banco de Portugal issues Circular Letter No. CC/2021/00000052 to align national reporting requirements with the European Systemic Risk Board Recommendation CERS/2020/12. The directive mandates that credit institutions, electronic money institutions, payment institutions, and financial companies include Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) codes in their regulatory reports to the central bank. This requirement applies to the reporting entity itself and to any legal entities for which information is reported, ensuring precise identification of legal persons in financial data.
