Bank Indonesia issued Regulation Number 11/6/PBI/2009 to amend the specifications for the 10,000 Rupiah banknote, primarily updating the year of print to 2009 and enhancing security features such as signatures and placement of issue dates. The regulation defines the detailed physical characteristics of the note, including its purple color scheme, images of National Hero Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II and the Rumah Limas house, and specific security elements like optically variable ink and ultraviolet-reactive threads. Additionally, Article 5A explicitly declares that previously issued 10,000 Rupiah banknotes remain legal tender until officially revoked and withdrawn from circulation.
