SDAD Circular Letter No. 05: Changes in the Office and Transaction Hours of Scheduled Banks

Bangladesh Bank’s Supervisory Data Validation and Analytics Reporting Point (SDAD) issues Circular Letter No. 05 to formally cancel the previously notified revised office hours for scheduled banks, effective 05 April 2026. The directive mandates that Branch, Head, and Regional Fund Centers (Deposit and Cash Centers) will maintain their 24/7 operational status as established under SDAD Circular Letter No. 24 dated 05 August 2019. This regulatory update is promulgated under Section 45 of the Companies Act, 1994, and establishes standard Monday-to-Thursday operating hours from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM for offices and 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM for transactions.

To: All Chief Executive Officers of Scheduled Banks

  1. The implementation of the revised office hours for scheduled banks, as previously notified, is hereby cancelled with effect from 05 April 2026.
  2. The 24/7 availability of Branch/Head/Regional Fund Centers (Deposit and Cash Centers) shall remain unchanged as per SDAD Circular Letter No. 24 dated 05 August 2019.
  3. This directive is issued under Section 45 of the Companies Act, 1994.
