The Prudential Authority has issued Directive D10/2025 to consolidate and update Pillar 3 disclosure requirements by transferring detailed rules from the Regulations relating to Banks into a standalone directive. All South African banks, foreign branches, and controlling companies must publish standardized quantitative and qualitative disclosures regarding capital adequacy, risk exposures, liquidity, and leverage ratios using prescribed templates within 120 days of year-end. The directive mandates robust internal controls and board-level sign-off for disclosures, requires a five-year public archive on bank websites, and replaces three prior directives to ensure full alignment with the Basel Committee’s international framework.
