Modernisation of Pensions Supervision: Feedback on Discussion Paper and Consultation on Pension Licensee Rules
The Guernsey Financial Services Commission issued this feedback paper and consultation document to modernize the regulatory framework for private pensions following a 2016 discussion paper. The proposals amend the Fiduciaries Law to classify the formation, management, and administration of pension schemes as regulated activities, thereby extending the Commission's supervisory scope to all scheme types. These changes aim to align Guernsey with international standards, protect beneficial owners, and ensure compliance with Common Reporting Standard requirements by June 2017.
