South African Reserve Bank Directive 2/2015 on Effective Risk Data Aggregation and Risk Reporting

The South African Reserve Bank issued Directive 2/2015 to require banks, controlling companies, and foreign branches to implement robust risk data aggregation and reporting processes aligned with Basel Committee on Banking Supervision Principles. Domestic systemically important banks must comply by January 2017, while global systemically important institutions follow Basel due dates and non-systemically important banks receive individualized compliance deadlines. This mandate strengthens corporate governance by ensuring rapid, comprehensive risk data delivery across legal entities and business lines to support informed decision-making and institutional resolvability.
