Decision on the Extension of the Deadline for the Exchange of Bosnian-Herzegovinian Dinars

The Governing Board of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina has extended the deadline for exchanging Bosnian-Herzegovinian dinars to July 17, 1998, for holders who missed the original exchange period. This extension is granted only in justified cases upon written application supported by documentation explaining the failure to exchange within the prescribed timeframe. A designated commission will evaluate the validity of each individual case and report its decisions to the Governor.

Based on Article 7, point b, and Article 39 of the Law on the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina ("Official Gazette of BiH", 1/97), the Governing Board of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at its 11th session held on July 10, 1998, adopts

D E C I S I O N on the extension of the deadline for the exchange of Bosnian-Herzegovinian dinar banknotes

  1. The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina will, in justified cases, exchange Bosnian-Herzegovinian dinars until July 17, 1998, for holders of banknotes who did not exchange their banknotes within the period prescribed by the Decision on the withdrawal from circulation and exchange of Bosnian-Herzegovinian dinar banknotes, UV No.: 12/98 dated May 28, 1998 ("Official Gazette of BiH", 10/98).

  2. The exchange of banknotes referred to in point 1 of this Decision shall be carried out upon written application submitted by the holder of the banknotes to the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina until July 17, 1998, inclusive, accompanied by appropriate documents substantiating the reasons why the exchange was not carried out within the prescribed period.

  3. The justification of the reasons referred to in point 2 of this Decision shall be decided in each individual case by a commission consisting of:

  • Mirsad Vlahovljak,
  • Olivera Bjelan,
  • Miralem Imamović and shall issue an appropriate decision, of which the holder of the banknotes shall be informed.
  1. The commission referred to in point 2 of this Decision is obliged to submit a written report to the Governor after completing the task.

  2. This Decision shall enter into force on the day of its publication in the Official Gazettes of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the Republika Srpska.
