The Bank of Zambia has immediately reduced its official Bank Rate by thirteen percentage points. The revised benchmark now stands at two percent above the weekly weighted average yield of ninety-one day Treasury bills, down from the previous fifteen percent margin. This monetary policy adjustment, communicated via Circular 17/2001, directs all commercial banks to align their operations with the new rate structure.

**BANK OF ZAMBIA INTEREST RATE**
Further to Circular no. SCH/CB/12/2000 dated 27 December 2000, kindly be advised that the Bank of Zambia has with immediate effect reduced its Bank Rate by a margin of thirteen (13) percentage points from 15 to 2 above the weekly 91 day Treasury bill weighted average yield rate.
