Bank of Zambia Act (Commencement) Order 2023

The Government of Zambia, acting through Minister of Finance and National Planning Dr. S. Musokotwane, issued Statutory Instrument No. 25 of 2023 to formally activate the Bank of Zambia Act, 2022. This commencement order mandates that Act No. 5 of 2022 takes full legal effect immediately upon its publication in the official Government Gazette. The directive exercises the statutory authority granted under section 1 of the banking legislation to establish its operational framework effective August 11, 2023.

### The Bank of Zambia Act, 2022  
**(Act No. 5 of 2022)**

### The Bank of Zambia Act (Commencement) Order, 2023

IN EXERCISE of the powers contained in section 1 of the Bank of Zambia Act, 2022, the following Order is Made:

1. This Order may be cited as the Bank of Zambia Act (Commencement) Order, 2023.  
   **Title**

2. The Bank of Zambia Act, 2022, shall come into operation on the date of publication of this Order.  
   **Commencement of Act No. 5 of 2022**
