Information Circular 3 of 2014: 2014 Annual Financial Statement Submission Requirements
The Financial Services Board requires South African pension funds to submit their 2014 annual financial statements using newly revised prescribed formats and mandatory electronic templates. Funds with financial years ending on or after 30 June 2014 must adopt the revised format immediately, while those with year-ends between January and May 2014 receive a filing extension until 31 December 2014 to accommodate publication delays. Compliance with the specified electronic submission standards is strictly enforced for all applicable returns.

## INFORMATION CIRCULAR PF NO. 3 OF 2014
### PENSION FUNDS ACT, NO 24 OF 1956 (“the Act”)
### SECTION 15 – SUBMISSION OF PRESCRIBED ANNUAL RETURNS FOR 2014 YEAR-END
1. Directive PF No. 7 of 3 May 2013 and Information Circular PF No. 6 of 2013 (published on the FSB’s Website ([www.fsb.co.za](http://www.fsb.co.za))) have reference. The revised prescribed format for annual financial statements will be published in the Government Gazette and on the FSB’s Website on 11 July 2014.
2. Funds are hereby informed that annual financial statements in respect of financial years that ended on or before 31 May 2014 may be submitted in either the currently prescribed format or the revised prescribed. Funds whose financial years end on or after 30 June 2014 are required to submit annual financial statements in the revised prescribed format.
3. Due to the unforeseen delay in the publication of the prescribed format for annual financial statements, an extension in terms of section 33(1) of the Act is hereby granted for the submission of the annual financial statements to funds whose financial years ended during the period January 2014 to May 2014 until 31 December 2014.
4. Funds must submit their annual financial statements in the respective applicable electronic formats provided for by the FSB.
