The Central Bank of Egypt has mandated a remote work mechanism for banks every Sunday throughout April 2026, a response to current geopolitical and economic conditions. This directive ensures that all critical banking services, including customer call centers, ATM functionality, and electronic channels, remain fully operational, with a strong emphasis on continuous monitoring and enhanced cybersecurity. This temporary measure will be subject to review at the end of April, requiring immediate compliance from all banks.
السيد الاستاذ/To His Excellency/رئيس مجلس الإدارةThe Chairman of the BoardبنكBankالقاهرة في ٣٠ مارس ٢٠٢٦Cairo on March 30, 2026تحية طيبة وبعدGreetings,نظراً للتطورات الجيوسياسية الحالية وما تشهده المنطقة من أحداث جارية، وتماشياً مع توجهات الدولة نحو مواجهة تداعيات الظروف الاقتصادية والتواترات الإقليمية، فقد ارتأى البنك المركزي المصري تفعيل آلية العمل عن بعد يوم الأحد من كل أسبوع خلال شهر أبريل ٢٠٢٦ وفقاً لما يترأى لكم، وذلك بما لا يؤثر على خدمة العملاء وتقديم الخدمات المصرفية بالفروع مع ضمان استمرارية حركة العمل في الإدارات المرتبطة في المركز الرئيسي، مع الالتزام بما يلي:Due to current geopolitical developments and ongoing events in the region, and in line with the state's directives to address the repercussions of economic conditions and regional tensions, the Central Bank of Egypt has decided to activate a remote work mechanism every Sunday throughout April 2026, as you deem appropriate, provided that it does not affect customer service and the provision of banking services in branches, while ensuring the continuity of work in related departments at the head office, with adherence to the following:- استمرار مراكز الاتصال لدى البنوك للرد على استفسارات العملاء.Continuation of bank call centers to respond to customer inquiries.- الالتزام بمتابعة التغذية الفورية لماكينات الصراف الآلي وإجراء الصيانة الدورية لها والتواصل مع شركات نقل الأموال.Commitment to immediate monitoring of ATM feeds, conducting periodic maintenance, and coordinating with cash transport companies.- التأكد من الكفاءة التشغيلية للقنوات الالكترونية المختلفة بشكل مستمر ورفع مستوى مراقبة الأمن السيبراني للأنظمة.Ensuring continuous operational efficiency of various electronic channels and enhancing the level of cybersecurity monitoring for systems.برجاء التفضل بالتنبيه نحو اتخاذ ما قد يلزم للالتزام بما تقدم، وسيتم إعادة النظر بعد انتهاء شهر أبريل.Please take necessary measures to ensure compliance with the above, and the matter will be reconsidered after the end of April.وتفضلوا بقبول فائق الاحترام والتقدير،Please accept our utmost respect and appreciation,طارق الخوليTariq Al-Khouly
