The Bank of Uganda invites participating financial institutions to a half-day Small Business Recovery Fund workshop on March 3, 2022, requiring each institution to nominate three officers including the Head of Credit. The session will review operational guidelines and stakeholder responsibilities under the 2021 Memorandum of Agreement while gathering feedback to accelerate fund uptake and launch a national publicity campaign. Addressed by the Deputy Governor and Permanent Secretary, the workshop aims to strengthen credit delivery mechanisms for Ugandan small and medium enterprises.

Invitation to a Half-Day Small Business Recovery Fund (SBRF) Workshop for Participating Financial Institutions on Thursday March 3rd, 2022 at Kampala Serena Hotel
Bank of Uganda (BOU) has organized a half-day Small Business Recovery Fund (SBRF) workshop for Participating Financial Institutions (PFIs) Heads of Credit, Relationship Managers and Credit Officers responsible for implementing the SBRF. The workshop is scheduled on Thursday March 3rd, 2022, at Kampala Serena Hotel (Victoria Hall) under the theme “Reviving SMEs in Uganda”.
The objective of the workshop is to discuss the SBRF operational guidelines and the stakeholder roles and responsibilities stipulated in the SBRF Memorandum of Agreement (2021). Stakeholders’ feedback on the improvement to the operationalization of the Fund for increased uptake will be sought.
The workshop to be addressed by the Deputy Governor, Bank of Uganda, and the Permanent Secretary/Secretary to Treasury, Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development will also include the launch of the “National SBRF Publicity Campaign” where BOU will rely on the active participation of the PFIs to drive the success of the Fund.
This therefore, is to request you to nominate three (3) officers, including the Head of Credit, from your institution to attend the workshop.
