The Bank of Zambia directs all commercial banks and bureaux de changes to accept the newly redesigned United States $100 note, which entered circulation on October 8, 2013. This updated currency incorporates advanced security features to deter counterfeiting and simplify authenticity verification for businesses and consumers. All existing US banknotes continue to hold full legal tender status regardless of their original issue date.

INTRODUCTION OF REDESIGNED $100 IN CIRCULATION
Reference is made to the above subject.
The Bank of Zambia wishes to inform you that the Federal Reserve Bank System began issuing a new $100 note from Tuesday, 8 October 2013. The redesigned $100 note incorporates new security features to deter counterfeiters and help businesses and consumers tell whether a note is genuine.
You are further reminded that ALL U.S. currency remains legal tender, regardless of when it was issued.
