Information Circular No. 4 of 2017: Temporary Exemption from Pension Fund Transfer Periods
The Registrar of Pension Funds has issued temporary exemptions from statutory transfer deadlines under Section 14 of the Pension Funds Act to address practical delays caused by new tax directive requirements effective 1 March 2017. Funds with approved or effective transfers unpaid as of that date are granted an extension until 31 August 2017 to complete the transfers and add fund returns to final amounts. Additionally, all new transfer applications must be certified with sufficient member particulars for tax purposes, while pending or approved transfers requiring amendments must be revised or withdrawn by the extended deadline.
