Banco de Portugal issued Instruction No. 5/2022 to publish the maximum interest rates applicable to consumer credit contracts for the second quarter of 2022. This directive implements Article 28 of Decree-Law No. 133/2009 and applies to credit institutions and financial companies. The regulation entered into force on April 1, 2022, establishing binding rate caps for consumer lending during the specified period.
