Bangladesh Bank’s SDAD department issues Circular Letter No. 07 mandating specific operating hours and closures for all scheduled banks during the Eid-ul-Adha 2026 holiday period. Banks are required to remain open for limited cash and cheque transactions on Friday, 23 November and Saturday, 24 November 2026, while remaining fully closed from Sunday, 25 November through Saturday, 31 November 2026. Additionally, designated livestock market committees must operate on adjusted Friday and Saturday schedules, treasury offices will maintain 24/7 operations for seven days, and holiday-duty staff must remain on alert.

In accordance with Government Control Department Notification No. 05.00.0000.000.173.08.020.25.44 dated 14 Nov 2026, all scheduled banks shall remain open for cash/cheque transactions from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Friday, 23 Nov 2026, and Saturday, 24 Nov 2026, and shall remain closed for cash transactions from Sunday, 25 Nov 2026 to Saturday, 31 Nov 2026.
To facilitate the Eid-ul-Adha livestock market, the livestock market committees and livestock market management committees operating under the jurisdiction of the Bangladesh Bank's regional offices in Dhaka, Gazipur, Savar, Narayanganj, Chittagong, and other designated livestock markets shall remain open for livestock market transactions on Friday, 25 Nov 2026, and Saturday, 26 Nov 2026. The working hours for these livestock market transactions shall be as follows:

Cash/cheque/deposit accounts at the Treasury/Local/Foreign Fund Offices (Treasury and Customs Offices) shall remain open for cash/cheque/deposit transactions for 07 days, 24 hours a day, in accordance with SDAD Circular Data No. 24 dated 05 Aug 2019, from Sunday, 25 Nov 2026 to Saturday, 31 Nov 2026 (excluding Friday). However, banks shall remain open for transactions related to livestock fund/customs fund management as per local government instructions.
Staff/employees on holiday duty are advised to remain on alert.
