Capital Markets and Securities (Regulatory Sandbox) Regulations 2024
The Capital Markets and Securities Authority has issued the 2024 Regulatory Sandbox Regulations to establish a tailored testing framework for innovative capital markets products, services, and fintech solutions. The regulations require eligible companies and licensed intermediaries to submit detailed applications, undergo a twelve-month testing period with targeted regulatory exemptions, and comply with strict customer safeguard, reporting, and data protection obligations. Successful participants may graduate to full market deployment upon demonstrating commercial viability and risk mitigation, while the Authority retains discretionary powers to revoke approvals or prohibit deployments based on testing outcomes and systemic stability.
