Requirements for ATM Receipts Initiative
The Saudi Central Bank and Saudi Payments mandate that all banks and payment network members operating in the Kingdom implement standardized ATM screen workflows to significantly reduce paper receipt requests. The initiative requires splitting cash withdrawals into standard and receipt-enabled options while automatically displaying transaction details on-screen for balance inquiries, mini statements, and cash deposits, thereby eliminating automatic receipt printing. Financial institutions must enforce these unified interface changes across all on-us and off-us ATMs to enhance data privacy, lower operational costs, and improve environmental sustainability, with full compliance required by June 30, 2022.
