SDAD Circular No. 06: Closure of Scheduled Banks in Bogura-6 and Sherpur-3 Electoral Areas on 06 April 2026

Bangladesh Bank’s Supervisory Data Management and Reporting (SDMR) department has issued Circular No. 06 mandating the closure of all scheduled banks in the Bogura-6 and Sirajganj-3 electoral constituencies on Thursday, 06 April 2026. This directive aligns with Ministry of Local Government Gazette Notification No. 05.00.0000.000.173.08.002.21.30 to facilitate voting for the vacant seats of the 13th National Parliament. The closure applies to all regional offices, branches, and sub-branches within the specified electoral areas, and is enacted pursuant to Section 45 of the Bank Company Act, 1991.

Subject: Directive to keep scheduled banks closed in the concerned electoral areas on Thursday, 06 April 2026, the day of voting for the vacant seats of 41 Bogura-6 and 145 Sirajganj-3 in the 13th National Parliament.

Accordingly,

  1. In accordance with Gazette Notification No. 05.00.0000.000.173.08.002.21.30 dated 01 April 2026 of the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives, all scheduled banks located in the concerned electoral areas for the vacant seats of 41 Bogura-6 and 145 Sirajganj-3 in the 13th National Parliament shall remain closed on Thursday, 06 April 2026, the day of voting, including their regional offices and all branches/sub-branches.
  2. This circular is issued under Section 45 of the Bank Company Act, 1991.
