PARTICIPANTS TRAINING BY MONTRAN ON THE UPGRADED REAL TIME GROSS SETTLEMENT SYSTEM AND CENTRAL SECURITIES DEPOSITORY SYSTEM

Reference is made to the above subject matter.

The Bank of Zambia, in collaboration with Montran, the vendor for the Zambia Interbank Payment and Settlement System (ZIPSS) and Central Securities Depository (CSD), will be conducting training on the upgraded systems as part of the migration to ISO 20022. The training sessions will be held from June 12 – 19, 2023, at the Bank of Zambia Head Office. The ZIPSS training will take place from June 12 – 14, 2023, while the CSD training will run from June 15 – 19, 2023. The training sessions will also be available online through Microsoft Teams Application for additional participants who may not be able to be physically present.

In view of the above, all participants are required to nominate two officers, comprising technical and business personnel, to attend the in-person training for the ZIPSS from June 12 – 14, 2023. Similarly, two officers, comprising technical and business personnel, should be nominated to attend the in-person CSD training from June 15 – 19, 2023. Participants may also nominate two additional officers to attend each respective training session online. The links for the training sessions will be shared with the nominated officers accordingly.

Further, kindly be advised that the Bank will be implementing an online portal, called the Investor Portal, for client registration and investment in Government securities as part of the CSD upgrade. In this regard, Montran has scheduled an appreciation session of this platform to be held virtually on June 8, 2023. Nominated CSD users from commercial banks are required to attend this session to understand the role of the commercial banks on the Investor Portal.
