CL-2025-005: First Philippine Polymer Banknote Series
The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas issued Circular Letter CL-2025-005 to direct all supervised financial institutions to promote the First Philippine Polymer Banknote Series. The directive mandates that these institutions feature provided informational materials across their communication platforms, including websites, ATMs, branches, and social media. This promotional campaign is required to continue until April 30, 2026, to ensure public awareness and acceptance of the new polymer denominations.

CL-2025-___ To : All BSP-Supervised Financial Institutions Subject : First Philippine Polymer Banknote Series In April 2022, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) launched the 1000- piso polymer banknote. Building on this, the BSP launched the First Philippine Polymer (FPP) Banknote Series on 19 December 2024, featuring the 1000-, 500-, 100-, and 50-piso denominations. These polymer banknotes co-circulate with their paper counterparts. To help raise public awareness and promote acceptance of the new banknotes for payment transactions, the BSP enjoins all BSP-Supervised Financial Institutions (BSFIs) to promote the currency’s circulation by featuring the attached information materials (see Annex A) in your communication platforms, such as websites, automated teller machine (ATM) screens, branches and offices, as well as social media accounts. BSFIs may pick up physical copies of the collaterals from the BSP Communication Office (for Metro Manila BSFIs) or the Regional Offices and Branches (for non-Metro Manila BSFIs) and/or print soft copies of the same. 1 We request that the materials be featured until 30 April 2026.
