Circular 01-2024 Self-Assessment Form
The Superintendencia del Mercado de Valores (SMV) of Panama has issued Circular SMV-01-2024 requiring licensed securities companies, investment managers, and pension and severance funds managers to complete the SMV Comprehensive Risk Management Self-Assessment Form V.1 online. The form, which will be distributed via email link on January 15, 2024, must be submitted by February 9, 2024, with all data reflecting a December 31, 2023 cutoff date. Responses will be analyzed to enhance the regulator's risk-based supervision, and supporting documentation may be requested if deemed necessary.

Reference: RISK MANAGEMENT SELF-ASSESSMENT FOR ENTITIES LICENSED AS SECURITIES COMPANIES, INVESTMENT MANAGERS, AND PENSION AND SEVERANCE FUNDS MANAGERS.
Dear Sirs:
In order to reinforce the Risk-Based Supervision conducted by the SMV, we request your collaboration to complete the “SMV Comprehensive Risk Management Self-Assessment Form V.1” online, which will be sent via a link to your email addresses on January fifteenth (15), two thousand twenty-four (2024).
The purpose of this process is to increase the efficiency of the supervision carried out by this Superintendence, through updated information that your entities can provide firsthand.
These responses will be analyzed and, if necessary, supporting information and documentation will be requested.
The deadline to respond to said form is until February ninth (09), two thousand twenty-four (2024), and the information provided must have a cutoff date of December thirty-first (31), two thousand twenty-three (2023).
