Implementation of Article 43, paragraph 3, of Legislative Decree 1 September 1993, No. 385 (Consolidated Text on Banking and Credit Laws). Agricultural and Fishing Credit.

THE INTERMINISTERIAL COMMITTEE FOR CREDIT AND SAVINGS

Having seen paragraphs 1 and 2 of Article 43 of Legislative Decree 1 September 1993, No. 385, which define the notions of agricultural credit and fishing credit, providing that:

• agricultural credit concerns the granting, by banks, of financing intended for agricultural and livestock activities as well as those connected or collateral to them;
• fishing credit concerns the granting, by banks, of financing intended for fishing and aquaculture activities as well as those connected or collateral to them;

Having seen paragraph 3 of the same Article, which stipulates that connected or collateral activities include agritourism, processing, preservation, transformation, marketing, and enhancement of products as well as other activities identified by the CICR;

Having seen the deliberation of 27 October 1983, by which financing was declared feasible within the scope of agricultural credit for the sectors of services to agriculture (IT, research, experimentation), energy saving, and industrial treatment of agro-food residues;

On the proposal of the Bank of Italy;

D E L I B E R A T I O N

1. For the purposes of agricultural credit and fishing credit, activities carried out in the sectors of services in favor of agriculture and fishing are also considered connected or collateral, among which fall those of an IT nature, research, experimentation, energy saving, and industrial treatment of agro-food residues.
2. For the purposes of fishing credit, freshwater aquaculture is equated with saltwater aquaculture.
3. The deliberation taken on 27 October 1983 and all those incompatible with the provisions of this deliberation are repealed.
4. The Bank of Italy will issue implementing instructions for this deliberation. This deliberation will be published in the Official Gazette of the Italian Republic.
