Whereas the issuance and circulation of rupiah currency is purposed to provide public need for banknotes as as an instrument of payment (legal tender); b. Whereas to optimalize the function of element on currency in the 1000 (one thousand) Rupiah denomination as a legal tender in Indonesia, it is deemed necessary to enhance the design of rupiah currency especially for the signature in bank notes, the placement of year issuance or year emission, and the year of printing; c. Whereas based on the considerations referred to in letter a and letter b, it is deemed necessary to make the amandement to Bank Indonesia Regulation concerning the issuance and circulation of the year 2000 issue of Rupiah currency in the 1000 (one thousand) rupiah denomination; In view of : 1. Article I Several provisions in Bank Indonesia Regulation Number 2/25/PBI/2000 concerning Issuance and Circulation of the Year 2000 Issue of Banknotes in the 1000 (One Thousand) Rupiah Denomination (State Gazette of the Republic of Indonesia Number 207 of 2000) shall be amended, as follow:

Unofficial Translation continous microtext without spacing with the inscription “BANKINDONESIA”, and serial number printed in red that will glow with yellowish red color under ultraviolet light; 3) On the lower of the main image, the inscription “DENGAN RAHMAT TUHAN YANG MAHA ESA, BANK INDONESIA MENGELUARKAN UANG SEBAGAI ALAT PEMBAYARAN YANG SAH DENGAN NILAI SERIBU RUPIAH” (with the blessing of God the Almighty, Bank Indonesia hereby issues this currency as legal tender to the value of one thousand rupiah), the number “1000” representing face value, inscribed horizontally,and continous microtext without spacing with the inscription“BANKINDONESIA”; 4) the number “1000” representing face value, inscribed vertically to the left of the main image, and serial number consisting of 3 (three) letters and 6 (six) digits, located to the left of the banknote and printed in black ink that will glow with a yellowish green color under ultraviolet light; 5) to the right of the main image, a rectoverso picture that if held up to the light will reveal a complete logo of Bank Indonesia; 6) As the background of the bank notes, consist of: a) Guilloche soft lines; b) Roset ornament; c) Waving lines, dots and spots, vertical and horizontal lines that formed ornaments; d) roncean flowers forming a fence. 3. Material This banknote made from100% cotton fiber, and the specifications as follows: a. Length 141 mm and width 65 mm; b. Yellowish white color; c. Does not glow under ultraviolet light; d. Water mark depicting the National Hero Cut Nyak Meutia; e. Transparent security threads with micro inscription of “Bank INDONESIA” complete or partially cut, and will glow reddish under ultraviolet light.
