Unofficial Translation BANK INDONESIA REGULATION NUMBER: 11/16/PBI/2009 CONCERNING AMENDMENT OF BANK INDONESIA REGULATION NUMBER 2/25/PBI/2000 CONCERNING ISSUANCE AND CIRCULATION OF THE YEAR 2000 ISSUE OF BANKNOTES IN THE 1000 (ONE THOUSAND) RUPIAH DENOMINATION BY THE GRACE OF ALMIGHTY GOD THE GOVERNOR OF BANK INDONESIA, Considering : a. Whereas the issuance and circulation of rupiah currency is purposed to provide public need for banknotes as as an instrument of payment (legal tender); b. Whereas to optimalize the function of element on currency in the 1000 (one thousand) Rupiah denomination as a legal tender in Indonesia, it is deemed necessary to enhance the design of rupiah currency especially for the signature in bank notes, the placement of year issuance or year emission, and the year of printing; c. Whereas based on the considerations referred to in letter a and letter b, it is deemed necessary to make the amandement to Bank Indonesia Regulation concerning the issuance and circulation of the year 2000 issue of Rupiah currency in the 1000 (one thousand) rupiah denomination; In view of : 1. Act of the Republic of Indonesia Number 23 of 1999 concerning Bank Indonesia (State Gazette of the Republic of Indonesia Number 66 of 1999, Supplement to the State Gazette of the Republic of Indonesia Number 3843) as amended by Act of the Republic of Indonesia Number 6 of 2009 (State Gazette of the Republic of Indonesia Number 7 of 2009, Supplement to the State Gazette of the Republic of Indonesia Number 4962);

Bank Indonesia Regulation Number 6/14/PBI/2004 concerning Issuance, Circulation, Revocation as Legal Tender, Withdrawal from Circulation, and Destruction of the Rupiah Currency (State Gazette of the Republic of Indonesia Number 52 of 2004, Supplement to State Gazette of the Republic of Indonesia Number 4338) as amended by Bank Indonesia Regulation Number 9/10/PBI/2007 (State Gazette of the Republic of Indonesia Number 113 of 2007, Supplement to State Gazette of the Republic of Indonesia Number 4762); HAS DECREED: To enact : BANK INDONESIA REGULATION CONCERNING THE AMANDEMENT TO BANK INDONESIA REGULATION NUMBER 2/25/PBI/2000 CONCERNING ISSUANCE AND CIRCULATION OF THE YEAR 2000 ISSUE OF BANKNOTES IN THE 1000 (ONE THOUSAND) RUPIAH DENOMINATION. Article I Several provisions in Bank Indonesia Regulation Number 2/25/PBI/2000 concerning Issuance and Circulation of the Year 2000 Issue of Banknotes in the 1000 (One Thousand) Rupiah Denomination (State Gazette of the Republic of Indonesia Number 207 of 2000) shall be amended, as follow:

1. The provision of Article 4 shall be amended as follows: Article 4 The charateristic of of Rupiah currency in the 1000 (one thousand) Rupiah denomination referred to article 1 as follow:
2. Color a. The color printed on the obverse side is blue, orange, red violet, and green; b. The color printed on the reverse side is reddish blue, green, yellow, blue,and violet.

1. main image depicting a National Hero and underneath the inscription of “KAPITAN PATTIMURA”;
2. to the left of the main image inscribed horizontally printed “1000” representing face value, half of rectoverso picture that if held up to the light will reveal a complete logo of Bank Indonesia, embossed latent image that contains number “1000” and the inscription “BI” negative or positive, the inscrition “BANK INDONESIA”,and the inscription “SERIBU RUPIAH”;
3. to the left of the main image, a latent image of the inscription of BI that can be viewed at certain angles, microtext with the inscription of “BI” arranged slanted to the left and right alternately forming a series of horizontal lines, the national emblem of the “Garuda Pancasila”,the number “1000” representing face value inscribed vertically, year of print “2009” (the number “2009” would change according to years of print), the inscription “DEWAN GUBERNUR”, signature of the Governor of Bank Indonesia accompanied by inscription of “GUBERNUR” (governor) and signature of a Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia accompanied by inscription of “DEPUTI GUBERNUR”,and the inscription of “PERUM PERCETAKAN UANG RI IMP” including year of issuance or emission.
4. As the background of the bank notes, consist of: a) Curved lines that forming ornament; b) Guilloche soft lines; c) Vertical and horizontal lines that forms ornamental stair; d) The rhombus shape that forming a lotus flower; e) Carved moluccan ornament on a megalithicum rock; b. Reverse side
5. main image of Maitara and Tidore island,and at the cente fisherman spread fishing nets that formed from the inscription modulation “BI” in the whole shapes or partially cut;
6. to the upper of the main image, the inscription of “PULAU MAITARA DAN TIDORE”, inscription “BANK INDONESIA”,

Unofficial Translation continous microtext without spacing with the inscription “BANKINDONESIA”, and serial number printed in red that will glow with yellowish red color under ultraviolet light; 3) On the lower of the main image, the inscription “DENGAN RAHMAT TUHAN YANG MAHA ESA, BANK INDONESIA MENGELUARKAN UANG SEBAGAI ALAT PEMBAYARAN YANG SAH DENGAN NILAI SERIBU RUPIAH” (with the blessing of God the Almighty, Bank Indonesia hereby issues this currency as legal tender to the value of one thousand rupiah), the number “1000” representing face value, inscribed horizontally,and continous microtext without spacing with the inscription“BANKINDONESIA”; 4) the number “1000” representing face value, inscribed vertically to the left of the main image, and serial number consisting of 3 (three) letters and 6 (six) digits, located to the left of the banknote and printed in black ink that will glow with a yellowish green color under ultraviolet light; 5) to the right of the main image, a rectoverso picture that if held up to the light will reveal a complete logo of Bank Indonesia; 6) As the background of the bank notes, consist of: a) Guilloche soft lines; b) Roset ornament; c) Waving lines, dots and spots, vertical and horizontal lines that formed ornaments; d) roncean flowers forming a fence. 3. Material This banknote made from100% cotton fiber, and the specifications as follows: a. Length 141 mm and width 65 mm; b. Yellowish white color; c. Does not glow under ultraviolet light; d. Water mark depicting the National Hero Cut Nyak Meutia; e. Transparent security threads with micro inscription of “Bank INDONESIA” complete or partially cut, and will glow reddish under ultraviolet light.

Between article 5 and Article 6, was inserted 1 (one) article, namely Article 5A as follow: Article 5A The 1000 (one thousand) Rupiah denomination issued by Bank before the enactment of this Bank Indonesia Regulation, are declared still remain as a legal tender along has not been revoked and withdrawn from circulation. Article II This Bank Indonesia Regulation shall come into force on the date of its enactment.
