Bank of Zambia Circular 01/2001 Exemption from Strategic Business Plan Submission

The Bank of Zambia issued Circular 01/2001 to exempt all commercial banks and financial institutions from the mandatory submission of strategic business plans. This modification addresses industry representations regarding compliance difficulties associated with the original Circular 8/2000. Institutions must still maintain internal strategic business plans and present them for review during the regulator's on-site inspections.

CB Circular No 01/2001

To : All Commercial Banks and Financial Institutions

Dear Sirs

## CB CIRCULAR NO 8/2000

Following representations by banks and financial institutions on the difficulties of complying with CB circular 8/2000, kindly be advised that Bank of Zambia has since taken note of the representations.

In this regard, therefore, banks and financial institutions are not required to submit their strategic business plans to Bank of Zambia. However, all banks and financial institutions are still required to have in place the strategic business plans and these should be made available for review by the Bank of Zambia officers during on-site inspections.

Be guided accordingly.

Yours faithfully

Dr Abraham Mwenda
DEPUTY GOVERNOR - OPERATIONS
