RESOLUTION No. JPRM-2021-002-A

THE MONETARY POLICY AND REGULATION BOARD

CONSIDERING:

That, the Constitution of the Republic of Ecuador, in Article 226, prescribes: "(...) public servants and persons acting by virtue of a state power shall exercise only the competencies and faculties attributed to them in the Constitution and the law. They shall have the duty to coordinate actions for the fulfillment of their purposes (...)";

That, Article 303 thereof determines that "monetary, credit, exchange, and financial policy is the exclusive faculty of the Executive Branch and shall be implemented through the Central Bank.";

That, through the Organic Law Reforming the Organic Code of the Monetary and Financial System for the Defense of Dollarization, published in the Official Register Supplement No. 443 of May 3, 2021, the Organic Code of the Monetary and Financial System was reformed;

That, pursuant to Article 47.1 of the reformed Organic Code of the Monetary and Financial System, the Monetary Policy and Regulation Board is created "as part of the Executive Branch, responsible for the formulation of monetary policy, as the highest body of the Central Bank of Ecuador who will implement this policy.";

That, numeral 23 of Article 47.6 of the aforementioned Code establishes that one of the functions of the Monetary Policy and Regulation Board is to appoint its Secretary;

That, the Plenary of the National Assembly, on October 12, 2021, designated and swore in the members of the Monetary Regulation and Policy Board;

That, the Monetary Regulation and Policy Board, in Ordinary Session No. 001/2021 held on October 14, 2021, elected Dr. Tatiana Rodríguez as President and Master Paulina Garzón as Acting President of the aforementioned Board;

That, the Monetary Regulation and Policy Board, in Ordinary Session No. 002/2021 held on October 20, 2021, appointed lawyer María Alexandra Guerrero del Pozo; and,

In exercise of its functions and attributions,

RESOLVES

Article 1.- Appoint lawyer María Alexandra Guerrero del Pozo as Administrative Secretary of the Monetary Policy and Regulation Board.

FINAL PROVISION.- This Resolution shall enter into force from its signature, without prejudice to its publication in the Official Register.

COMMUNICATE AND PUBLISH.- Given in the Metropolitan District of Quito, on October 20, 2021.
