The Central Bank of São Tomé and Príncipe issued Permanent Application Norm (NAP) No. 03/2015 to adjust monetary policy rates effective February 2, 2015. SUBJECT: Change in the Reference Interest Rate and the Liquidity Provision Facility Interest Rate
Having considered the recent evolution of the national and global economy and the outlook for the year 2015;
Having further in view ensuring compliance with the macroeconomic objectives set for 2015.
The Central Bank of São Tomé and Príncipe, within the framework of its monetary policy, has decided to stimulate financial intermediation, particularly credit to the economy, so that it serves as a catalyst for greater dynamism in economic activity.
To this end, and in the exercise of the powers attributed to it by paragraph 1 of Articles 8 and 31 of its Organic Law (Law No. 8/92), regarding the formulation and execution of monetary policy, the BCSTP determines the following:
Article 1. a) The BCSTP reference interest rate is set at 10%; b) The liquidity provision facility interest rate is set at 12.5%.

Article 2. NAP No. 11 of 04/2014 and paragraph 1 of Article 3 of NAP No. 08 of 05/2013 are hereby repealed.
Article 3. This NAP enters into force on February 2, 2015.
