Chapter I Establishment, Objectives and Tasks of the Central Bank

The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina is established as an independent legal entity operating under a currency board arrangement to ensure domestic currency stability. It is granted exclusive authority over monetary policy, foreign exchange reserves, and payment systems, while coordinating banking supervision across the country's entities. The Bank acts as the sole representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina in international monetary matters and maintains full operational independence from government and public agencies.
