Financial Institutions (Tier III Microfinance Institutions) (Exemption) Notice, 2019

Governor Retøelisoë Matlanyane of the Central Bank of Lesotho issued this notice to exempt Tier III Microfinance Institutions from section 5(2) of the Financial Institutions Act, 2012. The exemption takes effect immediately upon publication in the Government Gazette on June 14, 2019. This regulatory adjustment reduces licensing compliance requirements for qualifying microfinance entities operating under the tiered framework.

  1. This notice may be cited as the Financial Institutions (Tier III Microfi￾nance Institutions) (Exemption) Notice, 2019 and shall come into operation on the date of publication in the Gazette. Exemption
