Decision on the Issue of the 500-Dinar Banknote and Its Main Features
The Governor of the National Bank of Serbia issued a decision on May 30, 2007, authorizing the circulation of a new 500-dinar banknote featuring the portrait of geographer Jovan Cvijic. The note incorporates extensive security measures, including a hologram with a globe motif, a windowed security thread, fluorescent fibers, and specific intaglio and offset printing techniques. It measures 70x147 mm, displays the value in both Cyrillic and Latin alphabets, and entered into force upon its publication in the RS Official Gazette.
