The Banking Board of Ecuador annulled a previous administrative decision that had rejected an insurance claim filed by Aeroliderman Cía. Ltda. against Latina de Seguros y Reaseguros C.A. following a fatal aircraft accident. The Board determined that the Superintendence of Banks and Insurance lacked the administrative competence to verify the authenticity of signatures on the insurance policy, which was central to the dispute. Consequently, the case was remitted to the parties to pursue legal remedies under the General Insurance Law.
