The Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan enacted these regulations to mandate cross-border declaration requirements for residents and non-residents transporting national currency in cash and denominated securities. Legal entities may declare any amount, whereas individuals must submit verbal declarations for amounts up to AZN 20,000 and written declarations for larger sums. The framework also allows unlimited currency transfers through designated banks or postal operators and requires written declarations for jubilee and commemorative coins.
Approved by Resolution No.434 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 10 October 2018 Regulations on declaration of the national currency in cash and national currency denominated securities by residents and non-residents when taking out of and bringing into the Republic of Azerbaijan
2.3. Resident and non-resident individuals may take out of and bring into the Republic of Azerbaijan national currency denominated jubilee and commemorative coins irrespective their nominal amount by declaring at customs authorities in writing. 2.4. Resident and non-resident individuals and legal entities may take out of and bring into the Republic of Azerbaijan the national currency without any limits by wire transfer through designated banks or the national operator of postal communication.
