Bangladesh Bank's Supervisory Data Analysis and Reporting (SDAD) division directs all scheduled banks to remain fully closed for deposit and withdrawal operations on Wednesday, 18 March 2026, in observance of the Eid-ul-Fitr holiday. Banks in the Dhaka metropolitan area and specified satellite towns are permitted to operate on a limited basis on 18 and 19 March 2026, subject to prior Regional Office approval and restricted to 10:00 AM–2:00 PM on Wednesday and 10:00 AM–1:00 PM on Thursday. Additionally, banks must coordinate with local government and cash offices to manage interim profit collections and cash remittances from 17 to 23 March 2026, while designated executives must remain on standby for holiday duty coordination.

Regarding closure of banks on Wednesday, 18 March 2026 on the occasion of the Holy Eid-ul-Fitr.

In accordance with Government Notification No. 05.00.0000.000.175.08.0020.25-28 dated 08 March 2026, regarding the holiday on 18 March 2026 (Wednesday) in observance of Eid-ul-Fitr, all banks are directed to remain closed for deposit/withdrawal operations.
In view of the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr holidays, banks located in the Dhaka metropolitan area, including Ashulia, Tongi, Gazipur, Savar, Baruka, Narayanganj and Uttara, are directed to operate on a limited basis on Wednesday, 18 and Thursday, 19 March 2026, subject to prior approval from the respective Regional Offices. The limited operating hours are as follows:

In accordance with SDAD Circular Letter No. 24 dated 05 August 2019 regarding 07 days 24 hours banking services at Sub-Offices/Regional Offices (Deposit & Cash Offices), banks are directed to collect interim profits from local Government/Cash Offices for operations related to deposit/withdrawal/cash remittance from 17 March 2026 to 23 March 2026 (excluding Eid holidays) subject to prior approval from the respective Regional/Cash Offices.
All CEOs/COOs responsible for holiday duty are directed to remain available for necessary coordination.
