Regulation on the Treatment of Banks' Credit Risk Using the Standardised Approach

The National Bank of Moldova issued Decision no. 111 to approve a regulation requiring all licensed banks to calculate their credit risk capital requirements using the standardized approach. This framework establishes uniform risk weight assignments, exposure classification criteria, and calculation methodologies to ensure consistent capital adequacy across the domestic banking sector. The regulation has been legally binding since July 30, 2018, and directly governs how banks report and manage credit exposures under national supervisory oversight.
