Proposed Amended Regulations Relating to Banks
The South African Reserve Bank’s Registrar of Banks has issued Circular 3/2016 to establish a revised implementation date of 1 July 2016 for the proposed amended Regulations relating to Banks. This postponement from the original April target allows final approval and publication processes to conclude without delaying regulatory compliance. Affected banks, foreign branches, controlling companies, eligible institutions, and auditors must return the signed acknowledgement of receipt to confirm their awareness and adherence.
