Circular F.S. 22: Approval of Additional Security Issue Under the Friendly Societies Act, 1956

The Registrar of Friendly Societies in South Africa has approved the issuance of R50 million in South African Transport Services Local Registered Stock for investment by friendly societies under Section 20(2)(h) of the Friendly Societies Act, 1956. This approval updates the official list of permissible securities previously established in Circular F.S. 9 of 1977. Friendly societies must ensure their auditors review the circular and return a signed acknowledgement form to the Financial Institutions Office.

CIRCULAR F.S. 22 (To all friendly societies)

APPROVAL IN TERMS OF SECTION 20(2)(h) OF THE FRIENDLY SOCIETIES ACT, 1956

  1. The following further issue has been approved in terms of section 20(2)(h) of the Act and should be added to the list in paragraph 2 of circular F.S. 9 of 20 October 1977:

South African Transport Services R50 million 12,5 per cent Local Registered Stock, 2002/1993 (Loans Nos. 1 and 2)

  1. A copy of this circular is enclosed for your auditor. Kindly have the attached acknowledgement form signed by him also before returning it to this Office.
