The Central Bank of Swaziland, alongside the banking industry and key stakeholders, has issued the NPS Strategic Vision 2016 to establish a comprehensive framework for Swaziland’s payment infrastructure through 2016 and beyond. The document mandates the prompt enactment of the National Clearing and Settlement Systems Bill to provide a robust legal foundation, while outlining six core strategic focus areas encompassing regulatory oversight, market access, international interoperability, technological modernization, remittance efficiency, and cross-border regional integration. By aligning domestic operations with the Bank for International Settlements Core Principles, this vision ensures systemic risk reduction, enhanced safety and efficiency, and seamless participation in global and regional payment networks.
