Authorized Dealers are invited to attend the workshops, scheduled for two consecutive two-day periods focusing on topics related to foreign exchange management, including CBN's role in the market, FDI implications, bureau de change operations, and foreign exchange derivatives. The workshop fee of ₦57,000 per participant covers materials, lunch, and refreshments but does not include accommodation or other meals. Participants are encouraged to arrive a day earlier for registration. Interested parties should submit their nominees with a payment of ₦57,000 by October 26, 2007, payable to "Central Bank of Nigeria - FEM Training Account". The event will follow a first-come, first-served basis for participation.

The Workshop will hold in two runs of two (2) days each for banks' staff involved in foreign exchange and treasury functions. It will focus on current issues in foreign exchange management such as: the role of the CBN in the Reformed Foreign Exchange Market; Sources of Foreign exchange Supply to the Market - Implications of FDI and other inflows; role of Bureaux de Change (BDCs) in the Reforms of the Forex Market; UCP 600 - Challenges of Implementation; Foreign Exchange Derivatives - Development and Operations in the Reformed Forex market; etc.
Presentations will be made by experts and seasoned practitioners in the field of Banking, Economics, Finance, International Trade, etc. The programme commences 9.00 a.m. daily except on the first day when registration will start at 8.00 a.m. The Workshop attracts a fee of ₦57,000.00 per participant and covers workshop bag and materials, group lunch, tea/coffee and snacks, but excludes accommodation and other meals. Arrangement has however been made with the Gateway Hotels, Abeokuta for a 10% discount on normal room rates for workshop participants.
Authorised Dealers are enjoined to forward names of their nominees together with a bank draft for ₦57,000.00 per nominee, to the Assistant Director, Foreign Exchange Management Office, Trade & Exchange Department, Central Bank of Nigeria, Abuja or the Senior Manager, Policy Monitoring Office, Trade & Exchange Department, Central Bank of Nigeria, Lagos on or before October 26, 2007. The draft should be made payable to "Central Bank of Nigeria - FEM Training Account".
Please note that participation will be on the basis of first-come, firstserved. Authorised Dealers are, however, encouraged to nominate more than one nominee and spread them between the two runs. For the avoidance of doubt, only participants who have paid on or before the deadline stated above will be allowed to attend the Workshop.
