Circular 6/2015 of the CNMV Modifying Circular 1/2015 on Market Infrastructure Statistical Data and Information

The Spanish National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) issued Circular 6/2015 to modify the statistical data reporting requirements for market infrastructures in response to the reform of the Spanish securities clearing, settlement, and registration system. The regulation updates the list of mandatory records and databases that entities must capture and submit to the CNMV for supervisory purposes, aligning with the transition from a reference-based to a balance-based registration system. Additionally, it establishes a four-year transitional period requiring the Central Securities Depository to maintain the X-52 procedure for transmitting ownership references to ensure operational traceability.
