Decision on the Establishment of the National Payment System Committee
The Council of the Central Bank of Montenegro established the National Payment System Committee to improve secure and efficient payment operations and foster cooperation in payment services, including SEPA. This inter-institutional body, coordinated by the Central Bank, aims to encourage innovation, standardization, and competition while monitoring Montenegro's migration to the Single Euro Payments Area. The Committee comprises representatives from the Central Bank, the Ministry of Finance, banks, and the Chamber of Commerce, issuing non-binding advisory conclusions to harmonize national payment practices with EU standards.
